P0216, Is this the end of my VP44?

Hi,

Two days ago, my wife told me that the engine light came on in my truck. I went to autozone and they pulled the code for me. It was the P0216. The guy reset the code for me and it has not come back on yet. I have recently changed the lift pump. I have always monitored the fuel pressure. Truck is still driving fine. Will the pump be going out soon? The truck now has 66,000 miles on it. Thanks.



I made a typo. This really is a P0216.

P219 is the crankshaft position sensor. P216 is the pump killer are you with under 100K? warranty

Your VP sounds safe to me, as Bob said, the p0216 code is the end of the VP and p0219 is the crank position sensor. Unless thats a typo.

You have 66,000 miles, so no worries. Take it to a dealership and tell them to fix the problem, its free. I'm guessing BIG HOSS mean Banks. I'd say take that stuff off for the trip to the dealership so that they can't give you a hard time about it.
