Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) P0234

Trying to purchase an 02 ram. The only code other than the P1693 is the

P0234. Is this bad? What would set this code. Should there be companions? Help please, going to get it tuesday. thanks guys!!

P0234 (M) Turbo Boost Limit Exceeded Problem detected in turbocharger wastegate.



I had this once my 99'. I had let off the pedal too fast and barked the turbo, cleared it out and nothing since. I'm sure somebody else can give a better technical description and idea of what's happening, hope it helps a bit.

Thanks for the quick reply!! I hope this is a simple hiccup, but I know these trucks can be very intricate to fix and diagnose. Anybody with any other data, please jump in!!!!

I had an over boost code, towing a 8000 # camper, rt 80 in PA. I saw close to 30 # boost, I think. I had some other problems with the truck, APPS was bad. I also had the injectors pulled, and they were bad, I had them put the rv's in. I cleared the code, have never seen it again. even towing the camper home, with the bigger injectors, waste gate opens everytime. I had it into the dealer in Indiana, and an injection shop in Wisconsin, no one seemed too concerned with the overboost code.
