I'm sitting in my 99 3500 4X4 truck with my just received ODB-II cable from autoEnginuity. Check Engine lite is on. It's dark. It's cold. and it's... ... ...

"P0237 Turbo boost sensor A circuit Low" on the lap top.

Now what?

I tryed to reset the "MILF" light, but "it" will not let me. Prior to this I had the batteries disconnected for about 30 hours, no change. This is associated with a lack of power and ssllooww application of fuel and power.

That is a MAP sensor code. I had this a while back. Try cleaning both plugs and make sure it is plugged in properly. If that dont work pull it out and clean it with carb cleaner.

If all else fails get a new map sensor

Yeah P0237 is Map Sensor Voltage Too Low.

I would change and be done. Unless you have an exhaust brake, there should be nothing on it. mine hass come out perfectly clean twice. Once at 30K and the other at 80K.

I've got the exhaust brake, everything else is stock. Whats the average price for this part? Do I need the full manual, or can I figure it out on my own? I'm kinda able to wrench, I just cann't put down the toilet seat, or take out the trash.

Any idea what makes this thing go bad? I've got a couple more miles before I reach 200K, and I do drive on some pretty ruff roads.
I'm glad it might not be the turbo, I'm not sure that I'm man enough to explain to the CFO "Why" I need the quadzilla turbo. Lift pump I can justify.

Your ebrake will cause soot buildup on the MAP due to the valve overlap. However since you are reporting low voltage (like a wire is loose or sensor electrically bad) instead of low power (like the sensor is good but the orifice is plugged) I doubt that cleaning it will do much good. But do it anyway.

The sensor is located just behind the fuel filter. Pop off a plug and screw it out - kinda like an oil pressure sender. Click here for a diagram.

If you have a meter, you can check the electronics. There is a sticky thread in the FAQs for this forum with typical values. You can used compressed air to see if you get a deflection, but your code means that it is either open or unplugged.

If the plug is good and the sensor is good, then the sensor is powered by the ECM, and it could be the ECM gone bad.

What causes all of this to happen - gosh if I had that answer I'd be making $$$ for this kind of info. :-laf

I replace my MAP 08/13/05 and it was $47. 89. I got it a Kenworth of St Louis, they were the cheapest place. The Dodge dealer wanted $90+ for one.
