p0243&p0480 Codes

One of my buddy's has an '04. 5 (600) 6spd 4x4 and it just threw 2 codes that we are trying to figure out. One is a p0243 and the other is a p0480. I know one is an emmision contol code but not sure what the other is. The truck is totally stock and not even straight piped. An help would be appreciated. TDR is the best place to come for advise. Thanks.

Hey Eric,



I got the same 2 codes when the truck was 1 week old. Nothing had been touched on the truck yet. I brought it in and they could not find anything wrong. They reset the codes and I have never seen them again.





P0243 Turbocharger Wastegate Solenoid A Malfunction



P0480 Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit Malfunction

I think those are the same two codes mine threw when I had the first turbo timer installed for shutdown.



The timer needed some special wiring on a 2004. 5 and up to keep it from happening. It works good now with no codes
