My dad has a '05 2500 4x4 laramie. He has had the banks six-gun on it since he bought it from a friend of his. Right now it wont even pull a 17 boat over an overpass without great hesitation. I did a xearch on here and found a couple of threads that the A/C pressure transducer share the same power signals with the camshaft sensor. something about a pink wire w/ a yellow trail. anyways i checked that out and nothing is wrong with it. The a/c fan tends to speed up almost evenly with the boost. for instance when cruising at like 35 with the fan on low everything is normal. but at WOT the a/c fan sounds/feels like it is on super fast and the truck doesnt move like it should. any help would be appreciated. Im trying to talk my dad into talking the banks stuff off and going with either BD or edge.

You need something to clear that 0299 code before the truck will return to regular mode.

I use my bullydog downloader to get rid of the 299 when it comes up.

The truck is in limp mode with a 0299 and will not run normal until the code is cleared.

The 299 does not disappear like other codes after 4 or 5 restarts. It may take up to 50 or more restarts.

Most run of the mill code readers/clearers wont get rid of it (from my experience) A few cycles of starting and driving will get rid of the CEL but not the code. It will run like normal until you get the code agin. What mods are done to the truck?

My dad has he Banks six gun on his truck along with an airraid replacement filter. I have a friend at a local dealership and he hooked his computer up to the truck and cleared the codes. PO533 came up to after i checked the wire that was rubbing. As i was coming home from the dealership, i noticed that the truck was still acting like it is bogged down. could the catalytic converter be clogged? If so that would explain why the turbo sounds like it is coming and is coming through the a/c vents and why the underboost code is coming. anyone have this happen who has some knowledgeable information?

Thanks

Just a thought being the truck is an 05, check the intercooler itself for cracks and all hoses/clamps hooked to it for the same.

They started using plastic intercoolers in 05 and it doesnt take a whole lot of boost to make them crack. this could explain the underboost code, loss of power, and extra turbo noise (boost/air leak) that your hearing.
