Truck just started reading P0336 today and tach stops intermittently. Just had new LP installed last week because was reading 0psi. FP still goes to zero sometimes with new LP.
Could the crankshaft position sensor failure be related to the LP (0psi FP) problem of last week? I haven't looked close enough yet at the fuel pressure reading when the tach stops working (eg no CKP reading). It only happens very sporadically and returns to normal fairly quickly. Makes some sense that the computer might think the engine isn't running with no CKP signal and would shut down the LP. What doesn't make sense with that theory though is a month ago when fuel pressure was 0psi, the dash MIL was not on. Are the electrical connectors for the two near each other so working on one could have disturbed the other? Any other thoughts?
Oh well, good thing is it is still under warranty. Back to the dealer...
