can someone please explain in detail( to help me better understand) what does the p0336 code mean, i just replaced all the sensors a month ago, im tired of messin with this truck---its allways something... ... .....

Crankshaft position sensor code Wade. My rig will usually set it when I can't get above 1100-1300 RPM for a bit while moving( stop and go, traffic jams, you get the idea. Around here it seems to be tied into the TST box for whatever reason. Seems to come hand in hand with another code at the same time, if your engine light is on, it should go out after like 10 key statrs or something like that.

thanks, i thought it was also tied to another problem but i guess not

I got the code on mine when I was running a Rokktech sensor with my TST. Too much timing I guess. Since I've taken the sensor off, no codes.

i figured out what it was, i had oil on the sensor, i cleaned it and now its fine?

Oh yeah TST most definately throws that code, mine does it about once a week, usually at 1100-1500rpm as mentioned (you know just puttin' around the dirt roads) more often when cold and once in awhile at idle or at freeway speeds. I find it kind of funny because TST told me they cured the problem years ago and it is very rare for the TST to trip 0036. Mine never does it with out the TST (actually my Banks 6-gun did it also). I think that most boxes that manipulate timeing will throw that code on occasion. I really don't worry about it anymore though it is scary when it happens at freeway speed, my truck flat fell on its face for about 1sec then came back up and ran fine. When it happens at idle or low rpm it is just a little burp or unnoticable (except for the engine light).

Mine would some times get the 0336 code after a miss or stumble usually when cold at arround 1100 rpm. After running the new Smarty s/w I haven't seen it but it hasn't been very cold. I just clear it when i get a chance and forget about it.

Thank You Thank You

Thank You, man do I love this site. My truck would not start today. After reading this I went out cleaned the sensor and started right up. It even started faster than it has been.

Kory
