Ron,

The cleaning service is required maintenance on the Ram maintenance schedule for all ISB6. 7 engines. It is apparently important and required on pickups.

I had it done once because I assumed it was also important on my C&C. Apparently it is not. I will probably have it done again at around 150k miles just to be sure and because I have two friends who are former Dodge dealership techs and will do it for me at a reasonable price.

It may not be specified on the Gen IV trucks, I don't know.

I thought the C&C was the same except for the numbers, same emissions equipment, just lower numbers on HP,and Torque, so if they both have a EGR valve, what makes the C&C unique?, just curious.

Not true. Many differences with the C&C, all positive. Different frame and suspension, different automatic transmission, different engine tune, less emissions control equipment.

Do some reading.

My VW Jetta HAD a EGR and cooler, I drive the crap out of that car and those pieces of shat always needed cleaning until they fell off. Usually less than 30,000 kilometres before a pencil barely fitted into the intake ports, I was told by dealer that cleaning them was a owner paid part of maintenance. Now that they are gone the car runs better, gets better fuel milage. Same will happen to my 2007. 5 DRW ram when the warranty expires.

The point I was making was that the C&C, as far as I know has all the emissions crap as the PU, they both have EGR, and a CAT, and a DPF, yes the tune is different, I know they have a different trans, springs, brakes etc, but my understanding they have all the same junk bolted on the engine, if not what is on the PU, and not on the C&C?, the new ones have DEF, that changes some stuff, but in 2008 I thought were the same, just lower numbers on the computer tune.

How many times would you like for me to give the same answer? I have told you repeatedly ---- they are NOT the same.

As I already suggested, do some reading and learn something.
