Did not find this in a search. Threw a code today and the reader says Battery Temperature Sensor Performance. Have no idea what or where to check on this nor did I know we would have a temp code for the battery. Have new batteries. Installed a month or so ago. Anyone have an idea on this one?

The sensor I believe is under the left battery. It’s a button size thermistor. I believe there might be a TSB on dealing with and possibly removing it, but there are new ones available at Rock Auto.

Thank you Wayne. By left I believe you are referring to the passenger side? I have not done so before but maybe I can reach out to The MOPAR guy who posts videos on You Tube and ask if there is a TSB. And I will check the sight on Rock Auto to see if there is a picture of the part. Mine is a 2004.5 and in the past I had the air cleaner box out a couple times. Mainly to create room to service the serpentine belt and then the water pump. Might have to do that again to get to the little critter if removing the battery does not work.

Roger that. And thank you. This has been a very good truck for the 15 years I have owned it and I suppose I have to expect some gremlins now. That's okay. Very few problems. Could count them on one hand. Wish I could say the same for the 2014 3500 I have. I like the additional HP and exhaust brake but not the problems. Just pulled the passenger side wheel liner to replace a NOX sensor. Received the part yesterday. That liner is a bit more problematic if you have one of the newer models. Has three hidden nylon push pins along with the screws and two are in recessed areas. Hard to get to them let alone see or know they are there. The 04 does not have those.
