09 ECM PROBLEM

6.7 alternator voltage

Hey guys,
I got a new code to me. P063d, 07.5 2500 6.7. Has anyone had this code? It shows the lightening bolt associated with the APPS but the code refers to the alternator. I checked all of my battery connections, they're tight. Batteries are new. Is it the alternator putting out too much voltage??
Looking for any info I can get before replacing the alternator unnecessarily.

Thanks,
Clay

Make sure the batteries test good. Then remove and clean all battery and generator connections, especially the crossover cable between the batteries. If you have a meter, check the voltage at both batteries before you attempt anything. If they are not the same is high resistance in the connections or the battery(s)

Thanks for the reply. I inspected the positive on the passenger side & it was shot! Replaced the cable & all is now well. I just had the ECM, negative crossover cable & battery's but the positive they said d was ok. Wrong!!
Upon replacing the crossover negative all is now good. Cleared the code ' all ia well again!

Both times by lightning bolt was there it was bad batteries and that’s it. I put in some Bosch AGM blue tops I got on sale and they have been a step about and Johnson Control cell (walmart and parts store brands) for only a little more green.
