I was driving steady state, cruise on at 65 mph, the attitude started displaying exhaust temp alert somewhere north of 2300 degrees so I pulled over to do a look see. I would imagine if it REALLY was 2300 degrees I could at least see some noticeable conditions on the exhaust and turbo. I saw nothing glowing cherry red so I disconnected power to the edge with the engine off and key removed. I then started the truck up and it would only give me about 50% engine power as I drove down the road. When I got to my destination, I flipped the key to get the codes and it dropped a P0700.

After some googling the P0700 is a transmission problem. It seems to be shifting fine. I just replaced the governor solenoid and sensor, installed a new filter, and adjusted the bands. The front band has very little adjustment left.

After I got home and shut it down, I plugged the edge back in and it resumed normal operation aside from the transmission code and lack of power.

This is my first diesel and it is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

What should I look for?

You really need a code reader capable of pulling the actual codes form the PCM. The P0700 is an ECM code for more codes stored in the PCM that will indicate the problem.

Did the power come back after the filter, solenoid, and transducer?

Do you have OD and lockup?

The transmission shifted better after putting in the parts. It seems to shift the way it should. It does have overdrive and lockup after the code was set. The engine power does not seem to be there. I will have to go have the codes read.

P0237 boost circuit sensor low

I duplicated it when I unplugged the edge power and ran it. I have not been able to duplicate the EGT sensor going crazy though.

I am not sure what happened to the P0700 code as it still retained it after I unhooked the batteries. It was not retained in the computer.
