I just bought a 99 dodge 2500 lats night in not-running condition. It cranks but doesnt fire or even attempt to. I hooked up my scan tool and pulled a whole list of codes out so i cleared them and did it again. I got back a p1688, p0251 and p0252. These codes are all a sure sign of a vp44 failure right? Is there any checks that can be done to eliminate any other possibilities?

I agree with Bill... these all point to internal failures of the VP44 injection pump. If you had just one trouble code, it might be worth checking a few other things to be sure, but with three different internal failure codes, not a chance!
