For kicks, I checked my codes today, ( on, off, on, off, leave on) and I pulled a P1693 only. I have had this code before about 5 weeks ago, and ended up getting hit for about $500 for a LP. Does this mean the LP is going out again!???? Last time I had the P1693 and a P0122.

What is going on with my truck????

Help!!

Very very common code. Just means there was a problem between the ECM and PCM at some point. Really does not mean there is a problem.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in Companion Module A fault has been generated in the companion engine

control module.

P1693 (M) DTC Detected in PCM/ECM or DTC

Detected in ECM

A 9Companion DTC9 was set in both the ECM and PCM.

I wonder why they replaced your lift pump with a p0122 code

P0122 (M) Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Low Throttle position sensor input below the acceptable

voltage range.

P0122 (M) Accelerator Position Sensor (APPS)

Signal Voltage Too Low

APPS voltage input below the minimum acceptable

voltage.

They should have replaced your APPS. I don't think there is a code set when the lift pump is going bad. Usually the first sign is a injection pump code.

I would check the codes again in a week and see if its gone.

There's a code for the lift pump circuitry (making hay of a certain "theory") but it's not close enough to P0122 for a misread to be suspected.

P0230-Transfer Pump (Lift Pump) Circuit Out of Range Problem detected in fuel transfer pump circuits

Another about a relay for a fuel pump may be gas engine only. I'm not sure about it.

P1282-Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the fuel pump relay control circuit.

$500!!! I'd stop using that mechanic. The LP at the dealer is $200+ and can be bought at Cummins or any other big rig shop for $130. It only takes about 1 hour to change out if you don't know what you are doing.

Clear the 1693 (go to Auto Zone - done for free) and then check it every few days. It might have been the same code and it finally just cleared itself (they will do that after X number of start/run cycles) over time.

Is your truck running OK?

My truck showed the P1693 and then a P0500. I had replaced the LP with a FASS so I new it was not the LP. My truck was going from 65MPH and dropping to 50. I took it to the dealer my injection pump was going bad. I asked the mechanic about the P1693 code and he said it is a generic code that can mean just about anything. I said talking about to different ECM and some other kind of control system and how they talked with each other but the codes do not show up when you turn your key on and off 3 times. He found the problem by pluggin in his box.

My truck is showing a 1693, 0237 with the check engine light on pulled the silencer ring a while back had to put it back in low power and had a 0234, 0500 they haven,t come back up. What is a 0237 and is it ok to drive it runs like a terd seems like it has low boost.

You are having MAP sensor issues. Try cleaning it first, and the connections to it. Clear the codes, and if they come back after the cleaning, replace the MAP sensor.
