p1757 error and trashed valve body????

Heya. .



I have an 05 3500 SRW with a 48RE, and just recently got a p1757 error, and the transmission would not shift out of 2nd, and would flare REALLY bad in 2nd, up to 3500+ rpms...



I do have the 100k extended warranty, truck is currently at the dealer, they say the VB is totally trashed, but the rest of the transmission looks good. transmission didnt show ANY problem prior to going tits up, no slippage or etc. Just got the 1757 code, and then a dead transmission... sigh. .



Now for the good part, they have NO idea when a new VB will be available due to a nationwide backorder. (1. 5wks+) This is my work truck, without it I dont make any money.



Has anyone heard of this problem before? My truck is stock, only a rokktek CPS sensor as a mod. Truck does run heavy, about 9500lbs all the time, but is not beat on at all.



any ideas?

Yep. Perfect time to get some aftermarket transmission goodies stuck in there. Makes enough of an improvement to be worth the coin.

Well I called dodge and gave em some hell, supposedly theyre gonna put the part on VOR status with high priority. .

I`d rather go with an aftermarket VB, but I did buy the extended warranty, so I`m gonna use it. Plus, dodge sez if the VB fails and takes out something else, that wouldnt be covered. . sigh. . warranty sux. .

I`m just suprised the bands/etc havent been damaged. I dunno, just mebe a bad sensor? hmm

ohya, only 63k on the truck. Dealer sez theyve had a lot of failures of the VB, hence the backorder, which is why I posted this, to see if anyone else got a p1757 error... . ??
