I have a 2013 tradesman, with below 30,000 miles that just threw the p20ee while driving a 150 mile route. called the dealer and they are backed up for the next week. is it okay to drive for the next week with causing any engine shut down or loss of power?

this is my first diesel so don't want to do anything that will mess this up.

According to my service manual: P20EE-SCR NOx CATALYST EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD - BANK 1

Possible Causes

DEGRADED, DILUTED OR INCORRECT DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID
DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID DEPOSITS IN THE DECOMPOSITION TUBE
EXHAUST SYSTEM LEAKS
MALFUNCTIONING DEF DOSING SYSTEM
DEFECTIVE SCR CATALYST

It doesn't say whether or not the vehicle will go into limp mode but it is a problem in the DEF system or the catalyst.

I don't know if this helps or not unless you know that you might have put bad or old DEF in the system. One of the fixes in the shop manual is to drain the DEF tank and refill with good fluid. The other diagnostic procedures take specialized equipment.

I had this one come up last year after a re-flash. About 500 miles after the CEL lamp came on with this code. After going around and around with the dealer saying it was caused by use of not Ram DEF. Clogged DEF system and Ram replacing the CAT asy. There was another Re-flash and all issues have gone away. Bring your truck in have the system checked and re-flashed there are a few up-dates that seem to make the truck run better.
