I thought i left this already.

Code P2122

When the engine is cold my truck is getting this code and the pedal is unresponsive in gear at some points. In Neutral ( automatic ) it is responsive.

I was told it could be the apps sensor. could it be the transmission in any way because I had it rebuilt this summer and the trans seems to be playing a part in this.

I just replaced mine, the part is called the APPS/Bellcrank assembly. I was getting codes P2121 and P2122. I never even thought about trying to adjust anything as the factory service manual (and a sticker on the unit) says to replace the assembly as a unit if faulty.

I've read on the forums a guy named Timbo has a replacement APPS if you feel like saving some coin and doing the setup calibration/adjustment yourself.

big coin

I checked the function of the cable and its clean and the springs have lots of tension to bring it home. Seems like it is the apps.

$580 including tax and I couldnt find an aftermarket one. Not that I would trust one for this application anyway. Man the old lady is going to be really upset. This year I put 4k into the transmission alone then brakes and calipers all around and not to say all the little goodies like stacks and regular maintenance ( 7 gallons of anitfreeze and Optima batteries )

Man these babies are expensive but I still would not give her up. My friend just sold his 2006 Duramax and is looking for a 2000 or so Dodge because of my mileage and power. I am getting 20 plus city.

Thanks Guys

Williams controls makes a unit that will replace just the sensor and you will have to have the williams harness for it modified. I had mine out the door for $140.

I will find the numbers tonight after work. I got mine at Kenworth, and your best bet it to talk to their service rep into flat rating one of their guys building the harness. Shouldn't take a skilled guy but about a half hour (about $45) to do it. Still way under and worth the trouble imo.

Williams contors part numbers:

Sensor: 131973

Harness:131165

You will have to source and wire the deutch connector on the left of the harness (grey)

Far outweighs the cost of OEM

Also, search user timbo, he sells this preassembled. Read the thread: anatomy of an apps the sequel.
