P2149 what to do?

Truck is running very very bad and continues to idle very bad also. No power what so ever. Never had any trouble out of this truck. Code says fuel injector bank b circuit. Someone help!!!

Probably an injector solenoid gone bad, or, possibly the connection thru the VC gasket. Either way you need to pull the valve cover to check.



Disconnect each injector in the bank effected (should be 4, 5, and 6) and ohm them out. Should be less than 1 ohm and greater than 0 resistance, look for the odd ball.



Disconnect injector harness outside the VC and ohm out each wire to check for continuity and resistance. Should be less than 1 ohm and greater than 0 resistance.

Tested the injectors and had one showing 9. 2 on the ohm meter. I'm assuming that's bad and it will have to be replaced?

Yep, solenoid is bad. Need a new one.



You did disconnect the harness from the injector before testing, correct? If not it could be the VC gasket.

Yep sure did. Time to start looking for a injector.

Dyonimite (sp?) Diesel had the best price on new injectors, the ones from Dodge are remans and they wanted a arm and a leg
