Actually that is not true. I have seen several that work fine and when you get on them hard, seem to be loose enough to have a slight puff come out. In theory they are not supposed to see any soot. But in reality some do.
There's a pretty good chance that my DPF was on the garage floor while this was all going on. It's back there again... this time for good.A 6. 7 that is operating properly will never blow smoke. Black smoke out of the DPF means it is cracked and is no longer doing it's job.

Nope! Got all the crap from my truck on the floor too and can hardly get it to smoke at all. 2 pre injections, 2 main injections and a post injection makes them run a whole bunch cleaner than the 5. 9. Makes you wonder why they spent so much time choking them up. !
Not yet. Gotta have dual CP3s first or you'll drain the rail and then you get TONS of smoke. Oh ya time for injectors!!!![]()
I have the opportunity to get a ridiculous deal but there are a couple of things to consider. 1. Dual CP3s equals lots more power. Lot's more power means I am going to get myself in a lot of trouble. This truck with almost a full liter more displacement is already a beast. Add the Juice, no emissions, locking hubs and it really moves. Gonna embarrass myself if I keep going.
2. I need to watch my money, just like the rest of the country.
I think we highjacked this thread.
