I threw it drivin down the road. Anyone know what this code is?
EGR bypass valve stuck. Just picked up my truck yesterday from the dealer they installed a new valve. I already had all the current flashes. If it wouldn't have been for the check engine light I would have never known a thing. I drove it for three or four days while waiting on the part, no performance issues.

I had my egr valve replaced again since last post. Light came on again and off again for the last week or so. Tech finally figured out the valve is hitting the soundproofing inside the hood and knocking the sensor loose, so it connects then disconnects to keep throwing the cel. He said he would replace valve one more time if it came on again and then cut a hole in soundproofing material; That should fix it.

I am having similar problems with the P245A code. They replaced the EGR valve on Monday, but the light was back on before I made the 35 mile drive home. It is back to the shop tonight.

I have not been able to get the code myself using the key method. Does this work on all trucks? If I don't get the code does that mean that the code is no longer there?

I have found if you don't check right away it may not be there. Yes it is there it stored and they can get it with star scan. I had two last week the p245a and another I didn't know about. low trans line pressure from installing my trans temp guage lost about a gallon of oil.
