Got a check engine light yesterday, P2509. Retrieved it with the ScanGauge. Can anyone tell me what this is? I tried some online sites for the code but none of them went up to that number. The check engine light did go off after a few starts.

That's an ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent or "Powerdown Data Lost Error. "

It's usually nothing to worry about and will clear itself. It can be caused by a low battery or leaving the ignition key in the run position without the engine running for a period of time.

I just had 2 new batt. put in today Sears platinum 930cold crank amp. WOW she CRANKS up loud & strong now. Got a beep noise when i shut off the truck. I turned the key on & off 3 times to check cods & got p2509. Did your code clear itself rwitt? If not what did you do?

My truck also had the cel on. Scanned it and showed the P2509 code. I cleared it, but it came back. If I drive the truck all day, the light shuts off. This has been going on for about two weeks.

Checked all the connections and grounds, everything looked fine. Took it to have the batteries checked and they were both bad!

Replaced the batteries and cleared the fault code, cel off. Let's see if that does it! Never had batteries fail in that manner before. They usually just die! These however still had the ability to start the truck.

Four years to the day on the original batteries. Not bad considering how hot it gets here in the summer.
