Coyote problem in Wyoming

any of you Computer Guru's got an idea as to why the P4 2. 53 MHZ CPU is cheaper than a 2. 4? I know that the 2. 8's are out and that makes the prices drop. Does the 2. 53 have "issues" that make it less desirable than some of the others? I'm just trying to get all I can for my dollar.

I think I read about it a month ago, in a computer mag. There are two different P4 processors. The latest one is more efficient, uses less energy, and is better for faster all around systems. Less bottlenecking is what I remember being said about it. It may be slower right now, but it is more efficient, and lends itself to higher speeds through efficiency of the whole system. I dont understand it either, but what the hey. I have a P4 myself, It is about 8 months old and works great. If you are into complicated graphics or high speed gaming then the more expensive P4 might be better.

Check the bus speed. The fastest ones have a 533mhz front side bus. The older ones have a 400mhz front side bus.
