Here we go again!!
I have the Carter P4600HP by the tank and the P4601HP in the original spot. I run both with a relay that gets activated by the stock wiring. Everything was going good. Have had the system in for about 2 months and it gets about 22psi at idle. Went on a 400 mile trip last night and it worked great, have been on a lot of trips and it works perfect. Then I get up this morning and get on the highway and I look at my "A" pillar and my idiot lights for low fuel pressure are on.
I look at my gauge and I only have about 5psi. The P4601HP is not pumping but the motor is running. So I pull it apart and the shaft from the motor fits inside the part that spins with the vanes. Well it is held in with a little of plastic that is now broken into three pieces.
Has anybody else had this failure with this set up? I tried finding a contact at Carter so I could bit** but I guess they don't want to here from us. I think maybe it is the high fuel pressure so I might try to put a fuel pressure regulator in. Any Ideas? My wife says I've had a lot of problems with this truck. I said it is my fault and not the truck.
