Looks just like mine did after an internal failure (rack stop pin broke).

New parts only! Don't try to straighten it. You might be successful, but it has a high probability of catastrophic failure at speed.

FWIW: my local Bosch shop extracted just over $1300 from me for a pump rebuild and calibration before it was all done, and I R&R'd the pump.

Sorry, man.

How does this happen? I know what JGK said happened to his but is that what's happening to everyone else? Just want to know so I don't bend one of mine.

this happened becouse the donor truck of this engine had a fire and the timing pin which is a metal piece surrounded by platic melted in and eventually hitted the studs. i installed another pump i got from afriend but has less power its a 190hp and mine was a 160hp but it seems has way less power makes way more noise, maybe its timed wrong.

Jordan,

No, I've always had a plate in, and at the time it was a stock (unmodified) TST #10 so it can't be blamed on a custom plate cut too deep.

The tech said there was nothing he could see that caused it. He said it does happen on a rare occasion. He's seen a few others over the years. If I remember correctly, I think he said when the engine is shut off, the rack bumps the pin at fuel shut down.

I had the same thing happen to mine, only thing different was it actually came off and cracked the governor housing. #@$%! Can anyone say new pump.
