Having never torn one apart I assume from what I have gleaned from this website that the pump is kinda like a miniature engine. A cam with 6 lobes drives the plunger/delivery valves up and down and pressurizes the fuel until it reaches the pop off pressure of the injectors. Oversimplification I know but is this basically correct? Is there any website that contains technical info that would make some good reading material for bedtime or perhaps the throne room?

Thanks,

Danny

Just want to say thanks for the link Joe. I've also been trying to find some good reading info. for a while. I just ordered the Diesel Engine Management Book. I was going to order the Inline Injection Pump book but it said the the Engine Management book had that info. plus more :).

Yeah, Thanks for the link. Just what I was looking for. I gotta wait till I find out how much my pump rebuild is gonna cost before I order the book though. Gotta keep my priorities straight. Mike, let me know how you like the book.
