here is the deal,I have a 180 hp pump with 3000 hp springs,# 6 plate full forward. But i have 481k and its tired, leaks oil out the shaft and i'm sure needs gone threw anyways. runs good but smokes some days, not others, weired, was going to set timing, probably useless on something so worn.

does anyone have a used 215 pump, always wanted one, hard to find. Anyone know who would sell me a reman one and give me something for mine?

plane b is a 190 hp industrail pump i already have that needs a gov housing (cracked) is this pump better than what I have and worth fixing up? came off a bus 5. 9... . That housing cant be cheap... . trans is capable of lots of power mods and capable of all I can give it... . hopefully:eek:

like i said, looking for help and opinions,if you have experience with that 190 industrail pump let me know. . THANKS.

I'd just take your 180 pump and have it benched and gone through and tuned up by a reputable shop. It's not too expensive to do, if it doesn't have major problems or plunger bore scarring. I had the one off my '96 done at around 380,000 and it checked out good and cost under $200 to be calibrated and replace seals & bushings to take care of the leaks. One plunger had higher leakdown that was out of spec but they were able to lap it and get it back in tolerance.

Unless you're going for "big power" there's no point in trading yours out for a 215, the 180 is an excellent "second choice. "
