That's a great picture ... stock plate ... looks like the point of impact is too low. Should it be right on the bump?
 
lever adjustment

is the adjustment lever visible from the top with the afc cover re-moved? to see if it needs adjustment? last time i was there this info was not being discussed. when i installed the plate it seems that it automatically slid all the way forward. any way, it bolted down more forward than the original plate was.

Thanks Bill, i was looking for more of a diagram, i guess! something that shows all of the pump and it's innards. Iv'e looked till my fingers hurt.



Forrest- The lever looks about right. Piers has a good explanition on his sight for the lever adjustment.

Although possible, the lever adjustment is very difficult to see looking past the fuel plate (with AFC cover removed). If you look through the slot on the engine side of the fuel plate cam, you can see the top flat portion of the lever. A dental type mirror would make it easier to see from the top.



Generally, more forward is not necessarily better.
