PA,MD,VA,NJ Dyno day/Picnic/Chapter start?

Ok gang,Had a long talk with jstyer today about local chapter beginnings,,Were going to put it out to the group now,I have access to a newly installed Dyno Jet south of Harrisburg,PA,,After talking to owner about a Dodge day he is open to suggestions,,John and I would like to hear some input from those interested in a local chapter and a dyno day/BBQ picnic as a place for us to start,,Jet has all capabilities for our rides and I myself have already been on it once,,It will give you the torque graphs as well as hp graphs,,If this is of interest or you have any other suggestions we'd like to hear your ideas,,Due to my commitment for Mopar show at carlisle and John's going away the week after we like to get this rollin for last week in July or sometime in August,let us know what will suit and we'll try to make a weekend so we can get all of us together,,Owner of the dyno is flexable and has offered both weekend days if we get a lot of trucks,,BBQ/picnic for that day will have to be a everybody bring something and I'll try to have a few gas grills for the chefs among us to cook on,,To those TDR members of other chapters and area's,you are more than welcome for both and we would appreciate the help getting this newborn off the ground,,I do realize that August is a big vacation month and The Buck has a few truck pulls that may hurt the turnout,but,with enough support those who pull could show on Sunday,,Ok,gang,the balls in the interested members hands,contact me,jstyer or ICEMAN if your interested through our message system here,,I'll be keeping tabs on which weekend is better for who and we'll go from there,,Its time to begin ... . So far there are votes for doing this on the weekend of July 28-29 or August 25-26. Keep up the input. It would really be nice to get a local chapter going and this is a good way to start.

Dealer Participation

I faxed all this info about this event, including the TDR info for organizing local chapters, to my local Dodge dealer (been buying from him for 28 years) and he said he would distribute this info to all the Cummins Ram customers he has sold vehicles to. I informed him that he should also inform them that membership in the TDR would be the best investment they could make for their truck. John Styer

Sounds like a great idea guys. I can tell you from experience that this is hard to get going. But you can count me in on the August date. The July date I will be away @ Lime Rock Park for a Historic Porsche Racecar festival.

Currently, Hammer is keeping a running tally of the interested parties and dates that they have stated would be acceptable. If you don't immediately get a reply from him, it is because he is on the road tue. thru sat. He said he will catch up with the info on sat. when he gets back off the road. Please don't think that we have lost interest in forming a chapter because we do not immediately respond. This is far from the truth, we are very upbeat due to the number of responses we have received. We will probably call the group the Mason Dixon TDR due the location of potential members, above and below the Mason Dixon line and I'm a REDNECK anyway!!

Well,,Things are shaping up nicely,,Had a long chat with a very good friend of mine,Dale, who is a local used car dealer that specializes in Dodge Cummins Trucks,Continental Auto Sales is his business,and is a newly signed up TDR member and he is going to help sponsor the event and add a few door prizes to those who show up,,I am going tommorrow for campground info for those who are interested and get a detailed map ready to Ernie's dyno shop,,For those who seek motels,I'll have a list of the local ones available also,,For all those who already responded,a thanks is in order and we hope you all can make it,,I'll get with John and Iceman and go over those who have already responded and get the date set so everybody has plenty of time to plan,,Lets get this thing off the ground and running,seems like a good time could be had for all,,Those who have not responded yet ,send them to me or post it here I have a list going and will notify all as we go along,,Anything anyone can think of they'd like to do or have that day give us your ideas... ... After fighting with my computer all afternoon,I think I got it fixed enough to post again,,Ok,After talking with John today and going over the ones we have so far interested,we've decided that Saturday August 25th will be the first get together for our chapter,,It will be a Dyno day/BBQ and discussion on the beginnings of our chapter,,I'll notify all those who have replied when I return from my trip for work this week,,If Sunday the 26th is needed for more dyno work,Ernie the owner,will allow us the extra day,,I'll also post directions later in the week for dyno and am just about done with a motel/campground list,,I hope all can attend it will be a blast,,Lets start getting together what we all want to bring for food and drinks,so we can get the necessary grills needed set up for that day,,Let any of us know what you are interested in bringing,,drop a note to me or jstyer,,I'll check in as soon as I return this week... . Computers,phew!! such a pain at times... ..... P. S. -To those who own 3500 Rams,Ernie has assured me his dyno will handle your trucks and is looking forward to seeing all of the diesels ripping and snorting

August 25th looks good for me at this point. Looking forward to seeing everyone/meeting new folks. Appreciate the work on this, hopefully this will get the ball rolling and keep it rollling, we have had a couple good gatherings in the past year or so, almost 30 trucks in Northeast, MD last March.
