Hammer,

It is a bit late for me to consider attending. This is the same weekend that the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza is happening in IN. Maybe I can swing through on the way home and visit inlaws in H'burg and make part of it.

Campgrounds

I haven't spoken to Hammer this week, but if you look at his post at the top of this page, he was working on a campground / motel list. There should be quite a few in the Harrisburg/Dillsburg area. Look forward to seeing you there. You will also notice that he has obtained a sponsor for the event who is going to award door prizes (hopefully), etc. Also I have posted the event on The TDR Calendar, which you can access by clicking on the calendar button at the top of the screen, and it is scheduled for August 25th/26th.

Meet Directions. etc.

I'll also post directions later in the week for dyno and am just about done with a motel/campground list,,I hope all can attend it will be a blast,,Lets start getting together what we all want to bring for food and drinks,so we can get the necessary grills needed set up for that day,,Let any of us know what you are interested in bringing,,drop a note to me or jstyer,,I'll check in as soon as I return this week... .
This is what Hammer posted earlier. He is a truck driver who is on the road Tue thru Sat if my memory serves me correctly, and according to his quote, he will post the directions and campground/motel list when he gets home this weekend. . As to the calendar, it just brings you back to this post so until Hammer posts directions and campground/motel info. you won't know anymore than you do right now. Hang in there guy's! We really want this thing to go forward

If you need anything let me know.

Thanks

Cliff

P. S. The Buck is having a Diesel truck pull on Aug. 4th if anyone is intersted :D

Rammin On, There is a campground close to where I live. It's called Park Away Parks. It's north of York about 13 miles. There phone number is 717-938-1686. We get our gas bottles filled there. Looks like a nice place. Jeff

What to bring?

I guess I'll start the "whatcha bringin' list" by saying that I will bring Potatoe Salad and plates and plastic silverware. You all can add from here! As for 7:30, I don't think that will be any problem Oasis-3, but I better let Hammer determine that when he returns.

John Styer:rolleyes:

I will bring two mixed casses of beer and some 2 liter bottles of soda. Also, is anyone bringing kids along?? I have a three year old and six year old girls.

Ken

I will be bringing my 4 1/2 year old son. He loves trucks and is a bundle of energy. I can bring a gas grill if needed. Will also be bringing some grill food, drinks, chips etc. Looking forward to the get together, should be a great end of summer event.

Dave

I was hoping to bring two of my grandsons. Ages 14 (twins).

These guys think cummins is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I'd be happy to bring something but are we just talking about a picnic. How many people. I can't wait to get with all you guys to talk in person rather than on this high tech machine. I'm almost illiterate with it.

My wife and I and our five year old may be able to attend. Supposed to be away that weekend, but may be able to change our plans, what will be the charge for the dyno use ?

Man computers are a pain in the butt,,Sorry for the disapearence ,seems like my computer is not very cooperative here lately,,I am on a friends now to drop a quick note to let the ones coming I have NOT forgot about you,but am waiting the return of my tower(will be returned tonite Monday) so I can get this stuff on and up,,Please be patient,I WILL get the info up,,Whish I went to computer school rather than driving truck,at least I could have got mine fixed by now, these repair people are slow and have fowl attitudes,,I did chat with John and he knows what was going on,,Sorry for the inconvience gang.....

Meet is still on!!!!!

:D I just got off the phone with Hammer. He is in Phoenix and said he will have his computer back this weekend and will post all the information relative to the meet, campgrounds, etc. What compounded the delay was the death and estate settlement of his Aunt ( he says he is still not done settling the estate yet). He apologized for the delay and hopes all will understand. It is time to start posting who is bringing what to eat, cook or cook with so we know what to expect. :D

i will bring the chips, dip, pretzels and some other munchies. are we planning on grilling? chicken? hotdogs? etc. if so i'll bring some of them too.

Ok Gang,,I'll first begin by apologizing for my lack of communication,,I had a Aunt who I am very close to pass recently due to complications from brain cancer and while I figured time would heal all,the finishing of her estate and finalizing or the home sale really has took alot out of me,,I am now going to post the requested directions and keep in mind here that I am no computer wiz so I'll just type the directions in and go from there,,Business name is::::Kauffman Motorsports-1759 Ridge Road-York Springs,PA 17372,,,,Dyno pulls are $60 for three pulls and include the torque reading as well as the HP,, Ernie has a new 248C Dyno Jet with data acquisition and load control,,His facility will handle our rides, either 2500 or 3500,,Directions are as follows:::::::From the NORTH--Take US 15 south from Harrisburg,PA proceeding thru Dillsburg going south,At Worley's Nursery and fruit Stand turn left onto Latimore Valley road,,Go thru first stop sign and turn left onto Ridge Road,,About 1 mile back is Kauffman Drive on the right and it is a dirt driveway on the right, turnright and we'll be up 1/4 mile up on the right,,,,,From the south--Us 15 North to Latimore Valley Road and turn right(Worley's nursery is on the corner),proceed thru stop to Ridge road and turn left,Kauffman Drive is about 1 mile back on the right, turn right onto kauffman and We'll be up on the right about 1/4 mile,,,,,From the York,PA area--Take Rte 74 north thru Shiloh and turn left onto the Davidsburg Road(its a left across from the McDonald's),follow till it intersects with PA 194,Turn right onto PA 194 going north,,Turn left onto Pondtown Road and follow till stop sign,go straight thru on Braggtown Road and turn left onto Ridge Road,,Kauffman Drive will be about 1/2 mile back on the left, turn left onto Kauffman and we'll be up on the right,,Now as for motels in area, after research anyone planning on using them should try to stay in the Gettysburg or York area's,as Corvettes at Carlisle has area around the fairgrounds booked fairly well,,Many of the big chains are located in both area's and if any info is needed let me know ,,Campgrounds,Best one I know of is just south of the dyno and is right along Rt 15 at the Rt 134 exit and is called Round Top Campground,,(717)334-9565,,They are a full service campground with all the capabilities to handle any thing to 40 ft in length and have a pool, mini golf, playground, tennis courts and so on,,Their web site is www.roundtopcamp.com and they also have a few cabins for rent and also rent campers out too,,The lady was very friendly and has told me there are plenty of openings that weekend and to have them call to reserve a spot,,If anyone is need of another campground let me know as there are two others. ,but, upon my inspection of the one I found it to be not very nice and the KOA in Gettysburg would hardly chat with me on the phone so I could get some info,,I have one other to check on that I completely forgot about and will do that tomorrow,,Also the management at Round top has a car and Truck show from 4 till 9 pm and have invited us,its also a ice cream social, bring the bowl and spoon its $1. 25 all you can eat,,Plaques will be awarded to first 50 entries and trophies will be given out at 8 pm,,free to those who go is mini golf and swimming,,Any other questions let me know and I'll be checking regularly and talk to John too,,Hope this thing flies and lets some of us show the car group that not all cars are neat some diesels are too... ... .
