2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Pac Brake 2 wheel low kit

Has anyone used one of these. I have tried searching the forums and mostly come up with stuff on the Bob V. Kit. I tried e-mailing Bob about a month or so ago and never got a response. I can get the pac brake kit pretty cheap and am really leaning towards it unless someone knows why I shouldn't. The way I understand it, it basically uses the same vacuum switch that is used for my exhaust brake and it provides the vacuum for engagement and disengagement to use it just like Bob's kit. One thing I like is that it is controlled by a 12 volt signal so I can use switches that I already have in place.



Well, any feedback would be appreciated.

I have had one for several years now. It works great and I love it for backing the trailers. Install is very easy.

Am I correct in my understanding that it will actually engage and disengage the axle while it is in 4 wheel drive?

The instructions say to turn on switch then engage 4 wheel low. I am not sure if you can go back and forth, but if you turn off the switch it will engage 4 wheel drive.

Yep, you can toggle it on and off. It essentially reverses the command given to the front axle by the transfer case lever. If you flip the switch while in 2hi, the 4wd light illuminates on the dash (along with a grind followed by a klunk if you have any forward speed since the t-case didn't get things turning the right way first... ).
