Just wondering about the pac brake and extended idling. If it's bad to idle for extended periods because of low cylinder temperature, wouldn't the pac brake effectively raise the temp in the combustion chamber to prevent the wall washing?

I've idled with my pac brake on for up to maybe 20 minutes, but no longer than that. I don't know how long it would take to idle normally and have problems, but based on my experience it's probably at least a half hour or more.

If you're talking about idling for hours, then I'd use the pac brake, or shut the truck off.
