Pac Brake Fuse

Has anyone else blown the fuse on their Pac Brake? It

came with a 5 amp and I blew several of them. Went to a

7. 5 amp s/b. Just blew that last nite. Thinking of buying

a 10 amp s/b.

Just a guess, but I don't think you should be drawing that much juice to activate the solenoid that actuates the vacuum. I'd start looking for a short somewhere?

When I first installed mine it would blow the fuse every time I connected power to it. I finally traced it to the diode on the micro switch. The diode leads are bare (no insulation) and the lead on the hot side was twisted in such a way that it was touching the body of the micro switch causing a direct short. Maybe yours is so close that hitting a bump causes it to short out?

Thanks, i'll check that tonight. Hate to run around on wet streets with no brake. I didn't think it should pull that much juice.
