Pac Brake working, but not really

I was in the mountains in Utah when I noticed my EB was working (running and making the normal hissing sound) but wasn't braking as usual, wasn't slowing me down at all. Normally when stopped the EGTs won't go below 300 while idling with the EB on, now there is very little difference in EGT with the EB on or off. If I had to guess I'd say the valve wasn't closing all the way or is stuck. I't mounted in the middle of the pipe under the truck. Any ideas?

Hey George- when the brake doesn't work, it's usually the shuttle valve that gets crapped up, and needs cleaning. There have been several postings about the cleaning/disassembly, and a TDR Mag. article back there somewhere. TINY LITTLE PARTS! Not a major project, but mind those parts!

First check for any signs of an exhaust leak. Then apply a direct air supply the the brakes cylinder see if it is coming on all the way, if it is give us a call at 1-800 663 0096 for further trouble shooting tips
