Has anybody had any experience with running the pac brake with the stock valve springs? Does it work well?

We are planning on installing an e-brake on our 96 CTD rescue squad. We don't tow with it but it does have a utility box on it with about 4-5k lbs of equipment in it, and it gets driven hard.

How hard is it to install?

Who's got the best price? I recall seeing it somewhere for about $499 but I can't remember where... ...

TIA:D :D :D

I've used a PacBrake with 35 lb springs for some time now. It works fine. I was considering upgrading the valve springs and the brake, but I think I will stay with the lighter spring set up. It should be easier on my torque convertor clutch than the more aggressive version.

I purchased a preowned '96 with a DC installed Jacob's E-Brake already on it :D and I have no idea what valve springs it has  Most likely stock... is this a problem?

The brake works Great -- LOVE it. I do think the front brakes last longer BUT the rear tires Don't.
