I Have tested this combination, and have found no Problems,I Have also hard wired, it so the EB can be engage at idle with the commamder ,Its only one more switch and wire. With the additional switch and ECM bypass you can keep it engage all the way done to a stop. ( or disengage at unlock). Upgrade your trans if you use this combination. Also I did not use the Pacbrake ECM switch,I wanted a adjustable switch,The Pac is permanent and is not adjustable. I Broke the Pac switch when installing (enough said).

pacbrake ecm rip off

Just bought a pacbrake to install on my 2005 dodge 600 HO. I called pacbrake and now they tell me I need a ecm bypass kit for the automatic. What the heck is going on. They charge big bucks for the brake and then have the nerve to charg alot for the bypass switch. What a rip off Oo.

You could purchase the the two switches you need from Graingers ,I like the switch I install better than the switch Pac Has. Installing the Pac switch is not adjustable.

there are a couple of things you need to know if you want to run your exhaust brake without connecting it to the ECM... . the ECM has a slight delay. . this delay is allow the fuel rail to come down in pressure before the exhaust brake comes on... . if you snap your foot off the throttle... . the fuel pressure is very high in the fuel rail... . and it needs to settledown to the pressure required to support idle... . this takes a second or so... thats one of the reasons for the delay... .

Also on vehicles equipt with an automatic transmisson now require some additional protection... Pac Brake decided to not build one kit... . and raise the price. . and you'd just throw some of this stuff away with an installation on a manual transmission... they decided to offer one kit for all manual transmissions and those customers with automatics need an additional kit... .

I've read the service information but can't quote it here... I'm on the road in a motel and don't remember the exact reason for the kit on the automatic... . But I know exactly why the delay is there on all engines if you bypass the ECM... Don't... ... wire this exhaust brake direct to a switch with out some delay otherwise you could see problems with the high pressure fuel system... .

Our guys can either fax you or read you the information if you need it... let me know...

Most of the problem with the ECM bypass result with addiition pressure increase with Boost Fooler, I Have installed three ECM bypass kits with the Six-gun for close to a year Now,NOT one issue,On My Personal Vehicle I have the Bypass and on Level Six NEVER seen any pressure over 24,500,,Also it only move about 100 PSI when engage. ( to quote Again The comment was made from a outside source on a problem that Has never DEVELOP... ... )

On Edit, the ECM bypass with Tank is not recommended. I have installed both on My Personal Vehicle ,It will spike if you feather the pedal. In Minnesota If you have a EB with the Delay you lose about Half the operation because of the delay,Also on automatics you should have some Type of device to show lockup, and hard wire this to the brake soleniod for dis-engagment. also you need a another switch when using a lockup device to engage warm up idle. I recommend a TC upgrade ,if you pulling commerical trailers 9000 GVW. the stock TC cannot take lockup with the stock pressures. for Long periods of time.

just got my pacbrake installed and now the cruise control; will not work. The installed took 7 hours and the install is around 3 hours in most cases. What could be wrong :{
