I installed a pacbrake last weekend and thought I'd post some tips that might be usefull. Instructions are pretty good.

Elbow clamps come off easier if you have 10 and 11 mm deep sockets or a small end wrench with the ratcheting box end. Why the two clamp nut are diferent sizes is a mystery.

I didn't take my wheel liner off cause I just put on my mud flaps, and didn't have two much trouble with elbow working underneath and above.

It helped to remove the exhaust hanger bolts to give more wiggle room.

The ecm plugs come out pretty easy if you have a dental pic. They look like a small cribbage peg. I found it easier to get to them through the wheel well.

The wiring was pretty straight forward except for the shifter switch wire. I couldn't find all the screws for the cup holder console. After pushing the wire through the shifter boot, bend the corner up, seemed to be very flexable, wedge a flashlight under and fish the wire out with a hooked coat hanger wire.

It only took four hours or so to install, half of that time was looking for tools. What my dental pics were doing in my wifes sewing kit I'll never know.

Evaluations

After driving with it for a week I can see how it will make my service brakes last 5 time longer. I am changing my braking habits from coasting to a stop with service brake to aggressive downshifting. Braking is good at 2000 RPM or above. Downshifting to an almost stop is not a problem at all. It sounds pretty cool too. Even if I wear my clutch out sooner I think it will be well worth the investment.

Congrats

I too installed one about a week ago and I notice the stopping power the more I drive I will use it down to around 1300rpm.

I had a lady pull up next to me the other day and said my brake lights didnt work... He He He I wasn't using the brakes

I just installed my today. I took the wheel wells off the driver and passenger side. I found an easier way to install the shifter switch without having to remove the floor console. The shifter boot is just held down with some friction clips, pry up on the end near the seat and the boot will come off the console. It will give access to underneath the console.

The hardest part I found was trying to install the wire into ECM Pin 39. I also purchased the 1/2 gallon tank, but I didn't install it because I didn't have a right angle drill to drill the holes on the frame. I will install it at a later time. I should have some pictures posted tomorrow.

One more thing I forgot to add.

If you get the shifter switch, you don't need to install the toggle switch that comes with the kit. Found this out after I drilled and put the toggle in. Guess now I have to buy some other goodie to hook up to the switch.
