Alright My Brake was delivered yesterdayOo. and had the Evening to look at the instructions. Most of it seems pretty clear but before I start is there any helpful sugestions? What would be a good location for the Air Tank and what are the 2 roll pins that are mentioned in the stock exhaust elbow?

Thanks For any help.

Other than what was talked about in the other thread I don't think there is much. The roll pins are little pins on the mating surface of the cast elbow. They are just locator pins. I have not had any stay on the turbo, they have always come off with the elbow so you shouldn't have to worry about them. If they do stay in the turbo just take a pliers and remove them. It's nothing to worry about and is not a show stopper by any means.

Remove both inner fender liners and take your time and double check all of your wiring. As for the air tank... most just mount it on the frame under the driver's side cab. I didn't use a tank when I installed mine and I mounted my compressor on the passenger side of the intercooler/radiator area and not on the top of the motor. I needed the room up there for other stuff.

Post up if you encounter any problems. Good luck.

I have installed two Pacbrakes and in each case I had the same frustrating problem; getting the little pin to seat fully into the ECM. I never could figure out what the problem was, I just couldn't get it in, and then suddenly it would slip right in. On the first truck, I was just about to give up; on the second one, I rather expected the problem and was not surprised.

If you guys have a left over 4 inch exhaust elbow I would love to take it off your hands. I have been looking for one.

Well I got the compressor and air tank installed today before I had to go to work, I thought I would wait untill I had more time to tackle the brake itself. Then reading my latest TDR Mag I find out that only the Jake Brake is covered under warrantee, I might just run some air horns untill I get the rear end noise checked on at the dealer asap. This won't stop me or dampen my spirits I got a great brake just waiting to be installed.

Hope your pac-brake (compressor) doesn't die like mine did after one year. They will Ignore you if you have problems.

Not my experience, I had what I thought was a pump problem and they said no it is just the solonoid and then shipped me a new pump and new solonoid at no charge. I thought there service was great and this happened a year and half after I bought it and have no problems since.

Thanks for the heads up on the compressor so far so good, your the first I have heard of. Hope it's all good now. Was your brake before the air tank was included? Mine has a quick connect on it for an air hose so it would be easy to tell what was bad.
