I had a Pacbrake installed on my 04 and was not happy with the noise the compressor made. So I sent an e mail to Pacbrake asking if there was a solution to this. They in turn sent to me a new free mounting kit for the compressor. The kit allows the brake to be installed on the top of the motor. The dealer from whom I got the brake reinstalled the compressor at no charge. Now the nosie is gone. What a difference.

Sounds like what they did with mine. I used to be able to hear the pump louder than the truck at 75 mph. Also had a couple failures, twice coming on when it shouldn't have and once quit coming on. Pump still ran though. Found out they had a bad batch of solenoids. Also, while installing temp gauge I discovered the pump was only mounted at the top and flopping free. Took it back to the dealer last week and the really worked it over. All for free of course. Now it's great. Have also found that you can tap off the line for filling tires or air horns!!!

Whoooa!!!! bad solenoids? Mine crapped out last month and I just bought a new one (diffrent brand) to replace it. Figured at 1 year and 3 months the 1 year warrantee was up. You suppose they would replace it? Tell me more.

I think it is worth a shot to see if they would replace it. Pacbrake is pretty good. Call Jim Turner at Pacbrakes's 800 number. You can get that off of their web site. What brand did you get to replace the Pacbrake?

Is it now mounted by the intake horn?

Yeah Scott, what brand of solioids did you end up buying? They better be good ones! :-laf

JTurk, How much pressure does the pump make to run your air horns? I had a 150 psi regulator on my 01, my horns sounded pretty good. At least good enough to scare people down the road! :D But now the stupid dump valve is out and I just need to spend the $30 to get a new one, I guess Im just lazy.

I'll be honeset, I don't know what brand the new one is. Haven't opened the box yet  I'll get to that in the morning. Bought it from Grainger.
