Sometime in the near future I plan to purchase an exhaust brake for 'my pride and joy'. I have read enough on here to believe that either the Pacbrake or the similiar BD exhaust brake should be my choice. I can't find dealer representation on the BD in this area. However, I plan to do my own installation so that may not be a factor. Any strong recommendations for one or the other? Thanks for your input - Ed

I had a BD and had nothing but issues. The air compressor mounts up under the fender and is hard to get to. The Pacbrake is the only way to go and it works a whole ton better. It will build air in about 30 seconds. Don't even think about, just do it "PACBRAKE"

Just installed PacBrake on mine, haven't towed with it yet but installation was pretty straight forward..... Bought it from a TDR member. bg

Another thing I was descending a 4-6% grade in thru Tn and KY with 24K using the PACBRAKE and at times I had to turn it off because I was slowing down going DOWN hill. I have had mine for about 7 years and the only part I have replaced is the cylinder on the valve in the exhaust. It is money well spent. You won't be dissatified.

2cnd on the PAC, nothing but good things to say, I hardly ever use the service brakes, and have 130k on the original pads...

Thanks so much for getting back to me and providing your information. I also called them in Canada and had a very informative discussion. I wasn't aware that they are a major supplier to our military as well as our other Allies. Pacbrake it will be.
