Why do you need to drill a 31/64" hole in the butterfly valve of the e-brake with an auto trans? All I could get out of the person at the other end of the phone was that it will make the brake work much better. Has anyone done this and what were the results? It seems that the smaller hole would provide better restriction. What is the reasoning behind this?

Who are you talking to that is telling you this. I have never heard of anything like that on any of the exhaust brakes.

You must be talking about the Pac-Brake. It comes with a hole already drilled in it and BD will enlarge it if they install a Torgue-Lok. It has to do with the back pressure is what they told me. The BD brand brake's butter fly opens and closes as required so it doesn't require the hole. Mine has worked just fine since I installed it in '96.
