I just bought my new 03 and I wanted to know if the pacbrake off of my 01 can be adapted to this truck??? I will call pacbrake soon but just wanted to know if anyone has attempted this. Thanks!

Do you gents feel the PAC brake is better than say the Banks or whoever else's? I'd like to buy the DC unit but at $1300+, I think I'm getting cheated.

THE PACBRAKE WORKED JUST FINE ON MY '99. NOT ONE PROBLEM. BANKS IS A LOT OF MONEY AND THE CLAIM ABOUT MAKING IT LARGER AT THE VALVE IS TRUE, BUT PACBRAKE HAD DONE THE SAME THING A LONG TIME AGO. THEY DIDN'T BRAG ABOUT IT. TBOB

Do you own your own company? Is so, Business Link from DC will knock $500 off that $1300.

Thanks for the input guys. Unfortunately I'm not a business owner.

Pat, I assume thats $1095 American, Is the compressor elect. or belt driven? Will the butterfly valve replace the elbow like the Jake does or does it go in-line in a portion of the exhaust pipe?

As for Banks - Iv'e met too many people on the road who complain that Banks over states their products (ie: H. P. gains).

I do plan on waiting for PAC's unit so some comparisons can be made.

I'm a PacBrake Distributor and I was on the phone with them yesterday... ... I first saw the 03 out in Kellogg ID back in Aug or Sept... . and we had expected to see the brake in late Oct... . PacBrake likes to have all their bases covered so the intro was delayed.....

I have my stock order in for the new 03 manual transmission only exhaust brake... . I'm expecting them after the first of the year and have a stack of orders waiting to be filled... ... Auto's to be filled later... ...

I know that the bata testing is done and the brake will either use a air pump or vac. pump..... my guess is the air pump like some of the Fords... smaller cylinder and I personally think more dependable... .

Early on we talked about flow and their engineers have taken into account the need for speed for some of you.....

We've had close ties with PacBrake over the years and have installed lots of exhaust and engine brakes here in our location..... we enjoy the relationship we have with them and wouldn't think of offering other brands... .

BTW, they have a new switch that mounts to the shifter lever to turn on and off the brake... . Made out of billet material..... great looking..... as your dealer about them... ...

Jim; Please keep us posted on the Pacbrake as we are interested as to what they finally come out with for the 03 Rams. Be nice and worth more to most of us if it comes with an air compressor, that could also be used for air horns, etc.

I had a Pacbrake on my 95 2500 4X4 Ram w/auto. trans. and it worked great. Never any problem. It will be more efficient on my 03 HO 6spd.

The decision for vac or air was done months ago..... And to be honest I was told what it would be, just had selective hearing at the time and don't remember... . I have such faith in them that I take most of what they say for granted... ... I would have wanted air, as we use air on other trucks for HD Exhaust brakes for IH, Cat. etc... . fewer parts to carry... ... . and like you, it would be simple to add a tank and some plumbing and have air horns.....

I have been a reader of TDR for a few years but haven't gone on line before..... I don't know how much I can talk about what we do as I'm a dealer for them.....

BTW, they are a fine group of guys to work with... ...

You have a great day and a great holiday.....
