Do any of you have any experience with the Pace Edwards Roll-Top tonneau covers? What's your opinion? Is the quality good? Do you like it?

How about the fiberglass type tonneau cover?

Thanks for any opinions.

Pace Edwards Roll Top

I have had one my Pace Edwards for about 5 years. It has worked fairly well although it is starting to show wear on the slides. The cover started to come off along one side a year ago. I have found that the storage pod takes up a lot of space in the front of the box especially when the fifth wheel hitch is in the truck. Also if you are towing a fiver the side rails interfer with the pin box when turning. The Pace Edwards is okay for light duty type of use. You will still get a water on the floor of the box in rains or when washing the truck. I took the cover off this summer but once I have finished work for the season and have my trailer set up at the ski hill I will reinstall the cover for the winter as I find it convenient for keeping things secure and out of most of the snow. If you decide to go with this the electric tailgate lock is a great accessory.

I also had a Pace Edwards roller cover and loved it. The only complaint was the lock would freeze in a heart beat. Other than that I loved it. I used a pop N lock for the tail gate. If some one wanted to get in they would but it did a great job!

Steve... . I don't know if you noticed my truck or not last week, I have on a Pace Edwards roll top . Have had on for about 6-months so far so good. It looks good and slides below the bed rail... Time will tell I guess and the manufacture says it will hold up to snow???? We'll see. It beats having to snap and hand roll back like some other brands, the only negative thing so far it comes with a "chessie" lock.

HeberRam,

I did notice yours. That's what prompted me to look into them. (Shouldn't you get some kind of finders fee or something?:D )

I liked it.

I actually like the looks of the fiberglass-painted-to-match better, but they don't seem very practical. It seems that they would be in the way more often than not. I like the fact that the Pace Edwards rolls up out of the way.

Thanks for all of your input.

It does stand up to heavy snow even in Michigans UP!

pace edwards roll top

I have one I bought in Dec. last year. It works good, I would recommend it. Only a couple negative things though. The thin rubber seal on both sides tries to turn under occasionally. Don't use to much vaseline to lube the tracks like the install says, it makes a real mess on your fingers when you roll the seal back out. Also, no fault of the cover, I didn't attach the web strap per directions and one day when I had the cover open moving my sisters new washer and drier the strap got "sucked" down between the bed and cab. It wrapped around the drive shaft and made a noise and vibration that I can't discribe. Luckily, I was only going 10-15 mph when it happened. It ripped the strap in half. It scared the crap out of me. But no damage done, I just retied the shorter strap back to the top and make sure now that it is not free to wander around on its own when the top is open. You lose about 10-12 inches out of the front of the bed if that matters to you. Good luck!
