I'm trying to decide which performance program to go with. I have read the Edge Attitude threads but have not seen any on this new reprogrammer from PPP. Has anyone had experience with them? The top performance one claims over 500bhp! runs about $900.

yeah i got it and by itself it only added 80 hp but with the pressure box numbers befoer it added 177 so it's up to you and the truck smokes a ton now so it's hard to believe it only added 80 at first... ... i also heard a rumor that extrude honed injectors take away from boxes that are pulse width and duration so this could be holding me back over an edm type injector... ... ..... hope this helps any

RMenendez,

You can go w/ a Bullydog Downloader for about half that price. You could aslo get their Outlook Monitor and still be well under $900. The Bullydog Power Pup has a new program due out very soon it's advertised at 230HP, the current DL is only 130HP.

-Just something to think about.

Thanks for the feedback. For the money it seems the Edge with the monitor is safe and effective. One question I had is does it read EGT from ECM or do you still have to install thermocouple on the downpipe?

I have the Bully Dog Downloader with outlook monitor on an otherwise stock 2004. 5. On the 90 hp setting the egt is quite high, It jumps to 1050 (post turbo) and the outlook monitor doesn't defuel the truck. I have to let off the pedal to bring the egs back down. Lots of black smoke 2 mpg less (hand calculated) but the performance is great. I reach 39 lbs of boost and the waste gate opens (makes a hell of a noise). So I guess you can make up your mind. I had the option to return it to Bully Dog but if you program it back to stock it is just no fun to drive.

Everything has its +'s and -'s

I had the powerpup and i have to say the programmers are by far the easiest performance mod you can do to your truck. But I just don't like running on the max performance setting all the time. Its too time consuming to sit there and download new programs every time you want to change it.

For me, nothing is better than having the "shift on the fly" capability. That along with the fact that nothing yet has dyno'd higher than the TST made the choice pretty obvious.
