OK guys I need some advice ( again:) )

I purchased the 7 wire PW kit from Genos, its the heavy duty one.

I found a place under the hood on the drivers side firewall above the power supply panel to mount it. Will it be OK in that location?

Also, where did you tap the purple wire for the ignition on power to supply the PW kit?

I have a Hadley air horn, gauges and back up lights to wire up and am trying to find a good way to do this.

Your expertise will be most appreciated

Dave

its a very good product and the best place that I've seen it mounted in was the knee bolster just left of the steering wheel

easy to wire and easy access too. :)

I installed mine under the steering colmn as well. I purchased mine before they offered the H/D model. It was money well spent. I tied into the purple wire under the steering column. The wire is esay to get to once the knee bolster is removed.

Buff:

I installed mine under the drivers side battery on the fender well. Ran the 7 wires through the rubber cover around the steering column. The purple wire I ran direct to battery. As best as I can remember the unit seperates the constant and key/ on power. It's been 2 years since I installed mine. . Just a minute. I'll run outside and see... ... . From what I saw the purple wire goes inside the truck and that will mean taking the kick panel off. The red wire went to the relay and to battery. I do like mine.

Mine's mounted to the left of the steering column too,I tapped the ingtion +hot wire comming off the igniton harness, I know you can aslo tap any of the fuses in the fuse panel, for the key om power for the relay.

Underhood

Thanks for all the help fellas... I think I'm going to mount mine under the hood on the firewall just above the grommet where all the wires exit the cab. I read somewhere that the spare fuse in socket #7 in the fuse panel is ignition hot, if so I will tap this with a littlefuse add a circuit.

I would be totally lost were it not for the terrifc help available to newbys like myself from all of you on this terrific site!

Happy New Year to you all

Dave

I also mounted mine on the firewall next to the brake master cylinder. There is a location there that is meant to have the Painless Kit installed. I tapped off of one of the fuses in the fuse box to get the switched power. This unit is very well built and worth the money.

Hope this helps.

I mounted my PW behind the knee bolster near the steering column also. I ran each circuit thru a lighted rocker switch so I could control each function from the cab.

Well I'll be. Now I see how y'all put things on the fire wall. I can hardly see mine. That darn brake thingey has it covered. Come to think of it, thats what has the area covered for the filter change. Some folks have all the luck:mad:
