Purchased two painless wiring kits from Geno's and need help in deciding on a location to mount them. One is going to be mounted in the engine compartment and the other inside the passenger compartment somewhere. Have a 98. 5 24 valve truck.

Does anyone have a few good locations to mount these? Other than running the cable back to the battery, where else is a good place to attach the positive lead? Oh yeah, have a manual transmission so that nice hole where people with automatic transmissions run the cables through the firewall is already in use.

This is not a painless but I put my fuse panel under the steering column. There is lots of room there for things. Others have used the area as well. For more info and larger pictures see my mods page in the signature.

A $5 alternative to the Painless Wiring Kit is an Insulated Terminal Block from MadElectrical.com I mounted two of these next to my batteries, and am running Headlight loads from both Hi & Dim off of them, as well as the Blower load--all through relays. I also wired fusible links in to protect from overloads--you could also use fuses, but I prefer the fusible links. If anybody wants to call Mad E. , phone # is 559-539-7128
