hi guys ,

does anyone know about a very recent paint problem on the rams , i have heard that there is alot of rams comming up that are about 5000 below cost due to a paint problem , it has been rectified on the vehicles to be sold , so they seem to be a good deal .

any info would be appreciated

regards conn

dear dave,

thanks for the reply , yes i know about the issue a couple of months ago ,

this is something that has happenned in the last few weeks , has anyone not got there order or had their order delayed in the last few weeks

regards conn

I ordered a 2004 in late October. Waited about 9 weeks, and after a few confrontations, was finally told the order was cancelled because it didn't pass a paint inspection after taking the boat ride from Mexico to Newark, NJ. Exactly what a failed paint inspection consists of is anyones guess. From what I understand some of these trucks are taking a real beating on the open seas. Salt water damage seems to be prevelant. I've read some real horror stories on this website in the past month or so. Trucks just sliding off the decks and lost. Unsecurred on the decks sliding around in rough seas etc. etc. Think that could cause a paint inspection failure ??

Anyway... ... ... . I ordered another (from a different dealer) and am patiently waiting. Good luck with yours !

The dodge paint is absolute unequivocal garbage to begin with. A friend and I both have white 2003 rams and they both have little tiny rust dots all over the body. They offered him a free repaint. I urge anyone that drives through snow ridden areas with copius amounts of salt spread on their roadways to check their vehicles since the damage is only visible up close.
