Is anyone useing the 3m Paint protection film on their rocker panels, and if so how well will it hold up on gravel roads?

I haven't seen it on the sides... . but I have seen it on the front of a few vehicles. (BMW's, etc. )

On my car - it has started to peel a little bit, and dirt has worked its way underneath it in the 111k+ miles it has been on the car.

Hey Stick-I cured my rocker panel chipping problems by having Line-x sprayed on the lower 12 inches of my truck, all the way around, including the bumpers. I have a Sport model so the bumpers were painted anyway. I've had a lot of compliments on it also. Cost was about $450. Hope this helps!

it works well if.....

The 3M film works very well holding up to rocks and gravel BUT and its a big BUT is depends on who applies it. It isnt a DIY job if you want it to hold up, and not get dirt under the edges. I have seen many film jobs hold up on 4 X 4's that see a little action but don't want the line-X look. Look for a high end detail shop in your area and they should have no problem explaining it to all to you, my next door neighbor at work does high end detailing and he does a couple of these a week... ..... my 2 cents
