Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) paint turbo?

Did anyone that bought a new turbo paint them or leave them natural?

i left mine natural. are you thinking of painting the whole turbo or just the inlet side? It would praly be a waste to paint the exhaust side unless ya got some high quality high temp paint.

Stock turbo on my 97 came painted except for the rusty side

nah just the intake side but kinda like the natural look... ... just wondered how bad the aluminum would oxidize?

As soon as I get all my stuff together, I am going to powder coat both sides of my turbocharger. They make high temp coatings.

y-knot, I would like to know how well the high temp coatings work on a turbo. I have done some powder coating at home with good results. The powder is baked on at 400 degrees initially, and then reduced to 350 degrees for the balance of the time. I am curious to hear back from you after a couple of weeks of use.

I leave the compressor housing bare aluminum, paint the center housing Cummins titanium black, and the exhaust housing with black VHT.
