Painted my door handles

I just painted the door handles on my truck. Has anyone else done this? have any problems with it? heres a couple of pics. The truck is dirty sorry about that its a little cold out and its always dark by the time im done washing it.

Nice work. What did you use? Rattle can factory spray paint? Let us know how it holds up.

Thanks. Sorry I should say had a body shop paint them. They did the plastic primer, paint, and clear. I did it on my old taurus sho but the handles where alot differnt and after 5 years and my sister never taking care of it they still held up without a problem

Saw a truck somewhere that the handles, mirrors(did not have the flip up tow mirrors), wiper cowl, and the bottom valance below the bumper painted. Truck was Patriot Blue, and man it looked sharp. Im thinking of going that route.

i have been wanting to do that to mine. . no time to do it and i want to do it myself. need to learn how to paint better first though. .

Taking those ugly badges off really helped in making it look cleaner to.

Someone stole your radio ant,:-laf, Those look great,I have a friend who had his painted a couple years back on his 03 and the paint is holding up great,he also had them paint the plastic inserts on top of the front and back bumpers. I have been useing ICE polish on the handles,mirrows,and bumper insert plastic and it been keeping the plastic looking new.

Same here, I never listen to FM anymore in my truck. All we have in our semis at work is FM so I get local news that way. I plan on debadging, painting all plastics, maybe shaving the antenna and sticking it into the fender if there is a gap in time for my sirius subscription :-laf Maybe a nice touch of ghost flames... Oo.

For the antenna I was thinking of one of those window grids that chevy uses on its suburbans just incase i need the fm. When you debadge your truck cover all the paint around the badges with painters tape. so you don't scratch or chip anything I debadged all my trucks.

A few questions:

1)Did you pull off the handles & deliver them??

2)Did they sand the texture off??

3)What did they charge you????

I dropped the truck off. They pulled the handels off. They didn't take them apart (I believe the handels are easy to pull apart). but painted off the truck. Didn't sand the texture off don't really notice it. I wanted them sanded but the body guy didn't want to was afraidoff messsing them up. but only cost $450. not sure if it helped that they where painting my fender since it had a crack in the paint since I bought it. When it warms up and I can wash the truck and wax everything thats not fresh paint I will add some new close up pics
