I think I might be just paranoid! I had the rear end in my truck fixed about 1200 mile ago ( 3200 total on the odo now)... . It's not making the same noise as last time, but I THINK I hear a slight rear end whine at around 70 MPH . I have a tendency to " Look" for things... . Anyway, is anyone else out there experiencing this same deal. . I did a search and did find lots of talk about similar problems... . Should I just get over it? By the way, they replaced my Pinion, Ring, bearings etc. . last time... . IS THERE ANY EXPERST IN RIVERSIDE/ SAN BERNARDINO/TEMECULA AREA THAT MIGHT LIKE TO GO IN A TEST DRIVE WITH ME TO PUT MY MIND AT EASE??? Maybe it's ust these new Axles? Thanks!

I know how you feel, since the delivery of mine, thing go through my head, like what did I give up for this truck,is the American Axle going to hold up as good as my Dana 80.

I hear a slight whine at 70,but I can't tell if it is my tires or the rear end, usually if you let off the gas the whine will stop if it is a rear end problem, but it is so faint I cannot tell.

But with a 70000 mile warranty,I am just going to drive it and love it:)

You guys are going to make ME paranoid and I have 4-6 week wait. As if the freeze plugs weren't enough now I have to worry about the rear end whining.

Seriously, don't take a chance. Have someone look at it. Your truck is too big of an investment, especially for a teacher. My wife is a teacher... I know what you make. Biggest crime in America!

I did a search on another thread and someone posted about using the AMSOIL in the rear diff and it fixed this whine problem. I would like to use it . Trying to get their number if anyone has it... . From this computer car sites are forbidden! LOLOLO I'm with DG foster... going to drive it and love it!!!!

If it's so faint that you're not even sure it's there, don't worry about it. It's like if a tree falls in the forest and no one's around, who cares? Man has not yet made a mechanical assembly that is completely silent...

You have to remember, you are dealing with a bigger axle than you are used to listening to. It's going to make some noise, a little more than you are used to hearing. Mine started out louder than it is now, with 13k miles on it. When I just changed out the oil in the axles, there was no abnormal amount of metal on the magnet. I guess I will tell if there is a difference the next time around.
