Greetings folks, just got home from work, put the truck in park, and hit the ebrake like normal, and the pedal went all the way to the floor  .....

The ebrake worked fine when I got to work this morning, and the service brakes seem to be working fine.

It's raining here, so I have not looked at the truck yet. Has anyone had this happen ?

The problem is that I am scheduled to leave on vacation on Saturday, and will be hauling 6 motorcycles on a trailer with no brakes..... I will contact the dealer tomorrow, but they are always a week of 2 out... :(

Feels like a cable went... . Very little resistance on the pedal... .

Any comments from the experts out there ???

A buddy of mine used my truck a week or so ago while we were moving some horses around and burnt up my e-brake

I was wanting to look into adjusting them, but they are metal to metal now and go all the way to the floor.

The parking brake is a drum brake located at the center of the rear brake discs, so if it goes bad there won't be any effect on the service brakes.

My guess is you snapped the cable.

I snapped the cable on my 03 at 125k miles or so. Its an easy replacement. As you said, no resistance when its depressed. Mine wouldn't return to its normal position when the release lever was pulled.
